From a single store in a small town to a trusted name across Pune district, the journey of WLJ Jewellers is truly fascinating. It all started in the 19th century — the group draws its legacy from the late Ramkrushna Madhukar Wafgaonkar, a doyen of the family who captured the hearts of people with his ethics and craftsmanship.

Late Ramkrushna Madhukar Wafgaonkar

Ramkrushna Wafgaonkar, a doyen of the family and its chief architect, played a pivotal role in shaping the legacy of WLJ. In the 19th century, he captured the hearts and imagination of people through his strong ethics, integrity, and deep association with the art of jewellery.

Late Madhukar Wafgaonkar

Late Madhukar Wafgaonkar, an extraordinary craftsman and designer, migrated to Chakan in 1948. In 1951, he started a small shop in Chakan’s famous market under the name ‘Wafgaonkar Lakshmi Jewellers’, laying the foundation of a brand built on trust and quality.

Vishwaraj (Nana) Wafgaonkar

Vishwaraj (Nana) Wafgaonkar, a former student of Shri Shivaji Vidyalaya, Pune, is known for his simple and humble personality. With over 50 successful years in business, he played a key role in strengthening the legacy of WLJ, which is known as one of the most trusted jewellers in Khed taluka. In 2025, he handed over the business to his two capable sons, Kedar and Amar.

Kedar Vishwaraj Wafgaonkar

Kedar Vishwaraj Wafgaonkar, an MBA graduate and the eldest son of Vishwaraj Wafgaonkar, has taken a progressive approach to expanding the family business. In 2025, he founded WLJ, focusing on gold loans and financial services. He actively oversees legal affairs and business expansion, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and building lasting brand trust.
